Chingona Revolution is hosted by Erika Cruz, a rebel who left a 6-figure tech job to pursue her own unconventional path to success by following her passion that led to her purpose. Every week, Erika will bring out of you that BADASS LATINA through her experiences to overcome self-doubt and family expectations and lead with COURAGE.
Sometimes when I talk about what I’ve manifested, people think that I’m talking about woo-woo nonsense. It can feel a little far-fetched. Like it’s a skill that some people have access to and others don’t.
But I’m here to tell you that that is not the case. Yes, manifesting can be insanely spiritual. But there is also a formula for manifesting that is backed up by neuroscience. It is one of my favorite ways to manifest and by sharing this I hope it can help you manifest your wildest dreams.
In this week’s episode, I will share with you the art of manifesting. I’ll be sharing my step-by-step framework to manifest all of my desires without getting anxious and without putting pressure on timing. With this framework, I have manifested a cup of coffee, featured in the New York Times, and the clients I needed when I first started my coaching business. Tune in to this incredible episode to hear more about my manifesting journey and how you can manifest anything you want, too.

Erika: Hello, hello! Welcome to Ch*ngona Revolution podcast. Today’s episode, I want to talk all about manifestation. So amongst my friends, I’m kind of known as this master manifester. This is what they say to me. I remember my good friend Elizabeth reminded me that when we were in community college, I told her I wanted to work at a job that allowed me to travel.
And then within a few years I was working in the tech industry. Traveling all over Europe, traveling through Latin America, representing the company in Texas and in New York. I mean, I really traveled a fair share when I was in tech and it’s funny because I don’t even remember making that claim. I’m like, Oh, that sounds like something I would say.
I’ve always enjoyed travel, but as I’ve now, uh, gone on my own, grown a business. And, uh, manifested partners into my life and then manifested things. I ultimately ended up not even wanting in my life as well, but I really do feel as if I have manifested the business that I have and manifested my clients to me.
And I think sometimes when we hear this word manifestation, it can feel So woo woo, and it can feel so far fetched and it can feel like, Oh, some people have access to it and other people don’t. But what I want to talk to you all about today on the podcast is that there’s actually a formula for manifesting and there’s actually science that supports manifestation.
And while yes, at some level manifestation requires you to have faith and to trust and to surrender, there are a lot of. neuroscience explanations as to why certain things Work why certain things can be manifested and why manifestation can be easier for some people than others. And it’s not because that person is just more gifted.
It’s just simply that they know the rules of like, law of attraction, the rules of life, the rules. Of, and I’m not even the rules bright, but like the law of surrender and the law of allowing, and there’s so many concepts and so many things that you can learn that will help you manifest easier. And this is one of the big things that we’ve been doing inside of magnetic mastermind.
We did something called the abundance activation, which was pretty much, pretty much helping my clients visualize. What it was that they wanted to create, and some beautiful things came out of it. A lot of clarity came out of it. New business ideas came out of it. A lot of sales calls. Some people landed clients.
Some people met people. I mean, it really became this magical manifesting month for all of us who were inside of the container. And I think there’s also something really beautiful about manifesting in groups. So I have something called my magnetic framework, which is essentially my manifestation framework, and it’s a four step framework.
And I want to take you through step by step. What this is, how to manifest and what might be stopping you from allowing your manifest to come into fruition. So like what you may be doing that might be blocking you from your manifestations. And this episode is like a little test episode because I’m thinking about doing a manifestation series.
So if this is a topic that you are interested in, let me know, send me a DM on Instagram Um, if you want to share this episode, if you found found it helpful, obviously we haven’t officially gotten started yet, but do share it if you find it helpful and let me know. Give me feedback because if this is something you want to learn more about, we can break this up into even more detail, but let’s kick it off with what in the world.
is my magnetic slash manifestation framework. So the first thing that we need to do when we want to manifest something is we have to decide what we want. So many of us find ourselves in situations where we don’t even know exactly what it is that we want. Um, we say we want one thing and then we take action towards something else.
And the universe is like, um, hello, can you actually help me? Because if you’re taking action on two opposing things, it’s almost like a push and pull. You’re not allowing yourself to flow because you’re pulling in two different directions. So I’m going to give you all an example. I have clients who are inside of courage driven Latina who are like, I really want to start a coffee shop, or I really want to.
Start a podcast, or I want to create content, or I know I don’t want to retire from this job, but then a opportunity for a promotion comes up and they go and they apply for it. And it’s like, they already know they don’t want to be at that job yet. They’re still working their way up in that job, knowing they want to be doing something else.
So that’s an example of two opposing things. Another example of, Not being clear on what you want would be like saying that you’re ready to date but not ever allowing yourself to accept a first date. And allowing yourself to be extremely picky and you’re not really putting yourself out there. You don’t ever go out.
You’re not helping the universe out. So the first thing is really finding clarity on what you want. And I know that this can trip people out because they’re like, wait, but I don’t know what I want. Like, I don’t know what my purpose is. So you make the decision that you want to figure out what your purpose is.
That’s the decision to be made. You don’t need all the details worked out, right? And like, let’s say you want to manifest your dream partner and you’re like, okay, I’ve decided I want to manifest my dream partner. That doesn’t mean you begin to manifest the color of their eyes and how tall they are and what kind of hair they have and what career they’re in.
No, it’s simply setting the intention of like, here’s what I want. So the big thing about manifestation is that you don’t get to decide when or how it’s going to happen. Okay. You are just in charge of the what, because if you’re trying to figure out the how it’s going to happen and exactly when it’s going to happen, you’re trying to control and you’re not letting the universe work and help you.
And I’ll give you an example. I’ve talked about this many times. I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I didn’t know how I wanted to be an entrepreneur. And I started to apply for all of these different tech companies, got rejected by all of them, started to really feel sorry about myself. And then the pandemic happened.
And that’s when I started to create a lot more content on Tik TOK, a lot more content on Instagram. And that is how I ended up starting my business. I had been manifesting being an entrepreneur for a long time, but had it happened a year or two before it was not the right time. I needed the pandemic. I needed to be able to work from home.
I needed to begin to create content. Like it all ended up working out for me. But the thing is, if I was creating a vision board, I couldn’t predict that there was going to be a pandemic and that was going to be the catalyst that allowed me to pivot. And the pandemic is what gave me the courage to go after what I wanted to do.
Right? So your job is simply to identify what it is that you want. Not how it’s going to come, not when it’s going to come. Simply the what. So the first step in my magnetic slash manifestation framework is clarity on your desire. What do you want? And a lot of times the word desire gets a bad rep, but what do you want?
Right? Like desire is nothing bad. What you want is leading you closer to your purpose. If it feels good, it’s an alignment for you. So even if we just think about it from like a goal setting perspective, this first step of like setting the intention of what you want, being clear on what you want, decide on your desires.
Anybody who’s like having you write down a business plan or yearly goals, they’re like, okay, what are your goals? Right. Let’s be clear on what it is that you want to achieve. So when you’re clear about what you want, it allows you to make decisions. that get you closer to that goal of yours. And it allows you to say no to the things that are opposing.
So the first step again, clarity on your desires. The second step is you must believe that you are worthy of those desires. You may be thinking, okay, well how do I feel worthy if I don’t have them yet? But that’s a key to manifestation. If you’re like, I want to have one of the top rated podcasts, but you haven’t even started a podcast because you don’t even feel worthy of having a podcast because maybe you’re telling yourself there’s already so many podcasts out there.
People aren’t going to care about what I have to say. Um, what if I sound stupid? What if I get people who are hating on me? What if I get bad reviews? That is not coming from a place of worthiness. You are less likely to create that manifestation or reach that goal if you don’t feel worthy of having it.
And this one sounds, you know, very much like yay, positivity, like let’s feel good about ourselves. But let me tell you why this works. If you feel unworthy of your desired manifestation or of your goals, you are not gonna put yourself in situations or you’re not gonna take any action towards it. So let’s say that you want a top rated podcast and somebody’s like, Hey, I’m going to help you create your podcast totally for free.
Let’s let’s go ahead and get started. If you don’t feel worthy, you are not going to accept that help from them. Another example would be, let’s say that you want to move your way up in the corporate ladder. Let’s say that you really like the industry you’re in and you want to get into leadership. And then a job opportunity comes up, but you only meet like 50 percent of the requirements and you’re not feeling worthy of that promotion.
So you don’t even apply. So this is why worthiness, believing that you are worthy It dictates what situations you put yourself in. It also dictates how you speak to yourself and how you speak to yourself and the story you tell yourself matters a lot because if you’re telling yourself, Oh, of course I can do this.
Of course people want to listen to my podcast or of course I could be a manager and leader in this department. Then you’re more likely to feel worthy and then take the action so that you are more In that environment where you can get the promotion, where you can get the podcast, but usually worthiness is what stumps us.
And we’re not ever thinking about, Oh my gosh, I’m not worthy of this. It’s never showing up in those words. It’s never showing up with, I’m not worthy. Um, there was many times when I felt unworthy of certain situations. And one of them was starting my coaching business. I had my doubts. I totally had my doubts.
And the way that this came through the thoughts I was having and the feeling I was having was who’s going to want to coach with me? What can I teach people? What if I mess up? What if nobody wants to work with me? That’s how it showed up. That’s how I knew I didn’t feel worthy. But once I started to create more content and I started to see just how the free content was already impacting people’s lives.
I was like, why not start a coaching program? And this was also in the most ideal time. We were all still in the pandemic. It was in the summer of 2020. There was nowhere to go, nothing to do, but to work on yourselves. So once, once I believed I was worthy, not only did I kick off the program, I then kicked off the program a second time.
And then I left my tech job because I believed in myself so much after that. So worthiness, you don’t always feel worthy at the beginning, but that’s something to work towards. So let’s say that you have a goal and you want to reach that goal, or you want to manifest something. The first thing I would have you look at is, are you clear on what it is you want?
Remember not how or when, and then secondly, do you feel worthy of having it and really sit with that? And this is something to even journal on. Do you feel worthy of having this thing that you want? Step number three is take aligned action. If you don’t feel worthy, you’re not going to take any action.
And sometimes I think people think manifestation is just like hope and sitting at home and like things just falling in your lap. And while sometimes that’s true, Yes, that can happen. Typically we have to take inspired action. What is inspired action? Inspired action or another way of saying it would be aligned action.
It would be taking action towards the thing that you desire. If you do not feel worthy, you’re not going to allow yourself to take action. If you don’t feel worthy of the promotion, you’re not going to apply for the promotion. But if we work on your worthiness, which is something you get to work on, and then you see that there’s a promotion, you can maybe start asking management about it.
Maybe you can get a little bit more insight into it. Maybe you can start to write down all of the things you’ve worked on while you’re at this company that help you prepare for that role. And then taking a line to action would be applying for the job. It would be taking people out who are doing a similar job for an informational interview.
It would be taking action. So while worthiness has to do with your mind and your, your brain aligned action has to do with what you’re doing outside of your brain. Action is something that other people can see outside of you. And in order to manifest, you need both. You need to be clear on what you want.
You need to know that you’re worthy. So actually both of those would be like internal things that you do in your mind. Then you also have to take the aligned action. And sometimes aligned action could be like going to networking events, posting on social media, telling people about your business. Aligned action is so many, so many different actions that you can take that are going to help.
So now when we begin, we begin to take aligned action, a lot of times people are like, okay, wait, I posted one thing on Instagram or on tick talk. How come nobody booked a call with me? Or I applied to one job and I didn’t get it.
So it’s one thing to take action, but it’s another thing when you take action and then you’re like, okay, why isn’t my manifestation here yet? When we take action, it’s already aligned action. It’s already, it’s almost like, you know, there’s beauty in the journey.
The action that you’re taking, that’s going to help you get to your manifestation should already feel good for you. It should already feel an alignment for you. And that is what’s, what is going to allow you. to take action without having expectation of immediate results. That’s what kills manifestation a lot.
So some, I mean, it literally can die at any state, but the first one is not being clear on what it is that you want and not deciding on what you want. The second thing is not feeling worthy of it, right? If you’re not feeling worthy, then it’s not going to happen. Is like, maybe you don’t take any action or maybe you take action, but because it doesn’t happen immediately, you give up.
And the thing is, when we take aligned action, we keep taking aligned action. We don’t take aligned action with like, okay, this better immediately happen. No, we’re taking the aligned action because that’s already getting us closer Closer to our goals. And that already feels good for us because here’s the thing.
Let’s say that you’re posting content to land clients for your coaching business. Well, posting of the content should be aligned to action and it should feel good anyway, because maybe you aren’t getting the clients right away, but you’re already connecting with people. You’re building your brand.
There’s so many beautiful things that can come from just posting the content and just taking the aligned action. So it’s like, how can you take action without the expectation of immediate
The fourth step in my magnetic slash manifestation framework is to allow yourself to receive. So here’s the thing about receiving for women of color. Sometimes it’s really hard for us to receive for women who are in very masculine roles at work. It’s hard for us to receive. It’s hard for us to ask for help.
It’s hard for us to receive help. But if you want to manifest something, you have to get comfortable with receiving, receiving help, receiving guidance, receiving feedback, receiving opportunities. This whole thing of like, I’m going to make it on my own. Literally we live in a world where we are all connected.
Nobody makes it on their own. Like if there was just one human being on this planet, there wouldn’t be the human race. We definitely need one another. So the thing about my manifestation framework, when you allow yourself to receive, it means that you are open to different possibilities. It also means when you are feeling worthy, when you’re taking the aligned action, you are now allowing your own brain to see opportunities that maybe were there in front of you.
before and you didn’t actually see them because you were not aligned to your manifestation. But maybe now you are, if you’ve already gone through the framework and maybe that last step is allowing yourself to receive that part of that is also allowing yourself to even see opportunities that were there the whole time that you didn’t even have the capacity to see before.
And this happens a lot. Like once we start practicing this, And following this framework, there’s going to be things in front of you that you’re like, Oh my gosh, it was right there the whole time. And I just didn’t even see it. Like, maybe you want to write a book and you’re like, Oh my gosh, my aunt wrote a book.
And I didn’t even think about asking her what she did. Or, Oh my gosh, a friend from college, just self published. Let me go interview her to see how that worked out. And it’s like, that friend was always there, but you didn’t have the thought or the idea because you were so focused on what you didn’t want instead of focusing on what you do want.
So that is the magnetic slash manifestation framework. Decide on your desire. Believe you’re worthy of it. Take aligned action and allow yourself to receive. It sounds very simple and it is very simple, but it is not easy. I’m going to say that again. It is simple. It is not easy, especially when you want something really bad.
So when you want something and you are very attached to receiving it, sometimes we’re so focused on what we don’t want instead of focused on what we do want. So what happens? We end up Spending all of our time on how much we want it and instead of taking aligned action towards having it, we’re spending our time in our brain thinking about how we don’t have it.
And sometimes that can trickle into the worthiness and all of that. So let’s take this framework and let’s use it with some examples of things that I’ve manifested and then in maybe another episode I can get into like maybe the mistakes people make when manifesting and, uh, Like other, other tools and practices you can do to help manifest, because obviously I gave you the very simple four step framework, but even within the four step framework, there’s other sub steps, right?
There’s ways of deciding on what it is that you desire. There’s ways of believing you’re worthy. There’s ways of taking the line to action and there’s ways of receiving, but let’s take a pretty big manifestation of mine, which is being on the front page of the New York time. I’ll be on the front page of the Sunday Business New York Time with my friend Kat, Kat Del Carmen.
And how did that even come about? So if we look at the manifestation framework or my magnetic framework. The first thing is I had already decided that I wanted to have press and I made that decision because I was already showing up very consistently. I was already running my coaching business for a little bit over a year.
I believed that I was worthy because I saw how helpful my services were for other people. And I was taking aligned action. I mean so much aligned action. I was posting on Tik Tok like once a day, every day. Times have changed. I don’t think you need to do this anymore. But at that time I was posting very consistently.
I was connecting with a lot of people. I connected with somebody named Gigi, who was actually just on the podcast. And I connected with Gigi, the first gen mentor, um, through tick talk. And we were both in the Latin X creatives program with tick talk. And that was all part of me taking the line to action.
It was building my community, showing up, um, sharing my story, talking about leaving the industry, talking about entrepreneurship. And from all of that action, Gigi happened to be featured on a New York Times article and she connected me to the reporter who was looking specifically for people who had left their job during the Great Recession.
Resignation. So over like 2021, when a lot of people began to leave their jobs, she connected me with the reporter. I was interviewed by the reporter. I was like, okay, cool. We’ll see if this happens. Like, I was a little sketch about it. And she was like, do you know anybody else who also left their job at the same time?
And I was like, well, yeah, actually my friend Kat, Kat Del Carmen. So, a couple weeks go by, I don’t think too much of it, and then I get another message from the reporter asking if I’d be willing to do a photo shoot for the article. And I just so happened to be in LA, so that’s where Kat was located. So Kat and I ended up doing a photo shoot together, and a few weeks later, I get a message from somebody.
I, we didn’t hear from the photographer, we didn’t hear from the New York Times people, nothing. So, A few weeks later, I get a message from somebody who worked with me at the last tech company, tech company that I worked at. And he says, Hey, Erica, I hope you are well, I just wanted to let you know that I saw your feature on the New York times.
And I’m so proud of you. Uh, congratulations on following your purpose and blah, blah, blah. I was like, what it’s out. Where is it? So I Google it. And I didn’t even have a damn subscription to the New York Times. And there are Kat and I in the, on the front page of the Sunday business living life with two little champagne glasses.
It was actually LaCroix cause she was pregnant. Now her baby’s born. So I can say this and it was a crazy manifestation, right? But notice we went through all of those different steps in the manifestation slash magnetic process. Framework. I knew that I wanted press. I didn’t know how it was going to happen.
I didn’t know when it was going to happen, but I knew that I was worthy of it. And then I took the aligned action and I allowed myself to receive help. Gigi Giovanna, the first gen mentor, she is the person who connected cat and I to this opportunity. So you never know how things are going to happen, how they’re going to come about.
Um, let’s see another example, I was in Italy and I was walking with the person that I was with in Italy and I, we were, we were leaving the next day and I said, you know, I really would like to get my niece and nephew some soccer balls. I think that would be a good gift for them because I had been looking for a gift for my niece and nephew and I was like, I don’t know what they would want and it was hard to like find shirts for them that they would actually like, but they both play soccer.
So I was like, I think, I think a soccer ball would, would make sense. So I like said that, and then I kind of let it go. I didn’t think too much of it. I was like, I had no emotional attachment. I wasn’t going to be upset if I didn’t find a soccer ball. I just put out the intention. And the person I was with was like, Oh, I don’t think you’re going to find that here.
And I just like, I didn’t let that affect me, which I think is key, right? Sometimes we tell somebody or like the thing we want to manifest and they’re like, Oh, I don’t think so. And it becomes so triggering. Obviously this is a dang soccer ball. This isn’t my life’s purpose, right? So it wasn’t the biggest triggering situation, but I kind of just kept my eyes open and I started walking and then I turned the corner and there were soccer balls right there at a little corner store stand.
But you want to know what’s so funny? We’d walked down that street already, but my, I wasn’t looking for them. I wasn’t looking for them. I hadn’t made that decision yet. I hadn’t got the clarity yet. And when I made that decision and then the aligned action was just that, like, you know, I walked around and I turned around and I saw the soccer balls and then there they were.
So now my nephew, my niece and nephew have little Italy soccer balls that are really cute at their house, but that’s just a really simple one, right? So sometimes we can manifest things really quickly. Like when I got to Mexico City, I’m currently in Mexico City. I told my friends. I want to manifest a cup of coffee and I just put it out there and I was like, we’ll see when it happens.
And I set the intention and I of course was going to be in Mexico city. So I felt worthy of the cup of coffee, right? It’s just a cup of coffee. But then I started taking aligned action and the aligned action wasn’t asking people, Hey, buy me a coffee. It was just allowing myself to be out and about. To network with people.
And then I ended up connecting with Israel from the money noticias podcast. So I was on their podcast. It’s Sunim and Israel. They are brother and sister duo that talk about money and finances. Great, great, great podcast. I was on it. I want to say it was released about a month ago or so. So maybe in July is when it was released.
Highly recommend their podcast. But Israel now lives in Mexico city and we ended up meeting up and he was like, Hey, let’s go have coffee. We met up for coffee. He treated me for coffee and it wasn’t until like two hours later that I was like, wait, I manifested that cup of coffee. So I highly recommend that you try this with something that you don’t feel emotionally connected to.
And the reason that I wanted to manifest a cup of coffee is because lately I have felt a little bit off with the way that I’ve been manifesting. There’s been a lot of life stuff going on and I wanted to. do something that was, I didn’t have any emotional attachment to, and to something that I was just like, if it happens, great.
And I was just to prove to myself, I am a great manifester. So for all of you listening, I recommend that maybe you say, okay, um, I want to manifest a feather on the, on the road when I’m walking, or I want to manifest in a rainbow, or I want to manifest a cup of coffee as I did. So start with something small, go through the steps, Decide on what you want.
Know you’re worthy of it. Take the aligned action. Don’t hold on to it too tight. Remember, like allow things to happen when they’re supposed to, how they’re supposed to. And yeah, let me know. Let me know if you manifest what you manifest because you actually are always manifesting. And I know at the beginning I talked a little bit about How it can sound very woo woo, but there’s actually neuroscience behind it.
And there’s a few different ways in which, um, neuroscience and manifestation have similarities. So a way that we can decide on our desire is by visualizing it and almost seeing it in our brain.
Essentially, what this does is the visualization feels as if it’s already happening as if it’s already real. And this allows us, it allows the brain to be more efficient at recognizing opportunities as well as guiding behavior towards the goal. The other thing is, um, It’s called cognitive processing in manifestation, and it’s all about positive thinking.
So in manifestation, we’re supposed to focus on what we want, not focus on what we don’t want. And with. positive thinking when it comes to neuroscience, there’s something called cognitive bias. So the act of manifestation often involves positive thinking, which can influence cognitive biases. For example, confirmation bias may lead you to, may lead you to notice and remember information that supports your goal.
So think about the example of like, When somebody brings to your attention a car, or if you just buy a new car and you suddenly see it everywhere in the street, that’s cognitive bias, right? So that car has always been there, but like now you’re noticing it a lot, a lot more. And I can totally get more into the neuroscience side of this.
But there are like pretty much manifestation is no longer this woo woo thing the way it once was I mean even when it was I was fully supportive of it, but I’ve really gotten into neuroscience and it’s something that I’m bringing into my mastermind and it’s something I’m really excited about. So I wanted to test this out.
To see how this lands with you. If you are interested in joining the joining the mastermind, we are opening doors at the end of October. So join the wait list.
